Dear Bullberry,
Here are some photos of my first African
trip, during which your barrel for my Encore pistol worked great. I've
also used this 338 Win Mag barrel on a couple of antelope, many deer,
and a moose in Montana. It's never let me down.![]()

I left my rifles at home on this trip,
and stuck with the 338 barrel for all of my hunting. The first three
animals (black wildebeest, springbuck, and white blesbuck) were taken
in an open grasslands area, with shots from 110 yards (springbuck) to
230 yards (blesbuck).
The other four animals (impala, gemsbuck,
warthog, blue wildebeest) were in a very dense area with lots of thorn
trees and bush. Shots here were from 70 to 100 yards, with little time
to set up.
The PH was a little unsure of what
the Encore with your barrel could do, but didn't take long to appreciate
it's effectiveness. These African animals are tough, but this combination
was more than up to the task.
