Encore® Rimfire Adapter

The Encore rimfire adapter is a replacement breech plug for the Encore frame that temporarily replaces the original plug that holds the firing pin. Our breech plug has a special angled firing pin that puts the indent on the bottom of the rimfire barrel breech. Bottom ignition is generally not found on a USA made rimfire firearm, but is quite common on high-dollar European target guns. Bottom ignition is more uniform in ignition performance as it is always "in the powder." Top ignition is spread over the powder charge, in a random manner, depending on how the powder is situated in the cartridge at the moment of firing.

Installation

How to easily install our rimfire adapter in your Encore frame:

1. Remove the barrel from the frame.

2. Look down the face of the breechblock at the very bottom and locate the transfer safety bar.

3. Push the protruding tip of the transfer safety bar (located on the right side corner of the breech block).

4. Cock the hammer. This will expose the allen head set screw that holds the factory breech plug in place.

5. Remove the allen head set screw with the furnished allen head wrench.

6. Remove the breech plug forward. Do not to lose the firing pin or the tiny spring that fits around it. Put these, along with the allen wrench, in a safe place for future center fire use.

7. Install our breech plug with the angled firing pin in the same position.

8. Prior to final tightening of the rimfire breech plug using the Torx wrench supplied, push and hold the rimfire pin forward. Tighten the screw while the pin is pushed forward. This adjustment will allow you to fully tighten the screw while avoiding the possibility of bending your angled firing pin.

9. Put the barrel back on and you're done.

Note that the new firing pin is positioned to fire "off-center" on the bottom of the cartridge.

I've said in the past, "if a man can tie his own boot laces, he can install our breech plug adapter." And it takes about the same amount of time.

With your new Bullberry rimfire barrel in place, you are ready for a totally new experience. The accuracy with these barrels is spectacular to say the least. Our chambers are of minimum tolerance on a premium lapped barrel blank.

Our accuracy guarantee applies just as on our centerfire calibers.
