Ken's Montana Pronghorn
Hi Fred;
If you recall, I bought an Encore frame with a couple of barrels — a .17 Hornet and a 6.5 - 06. I want to say that I'm impressed with both of them. You do good work!
I'm sending a couple of pictures from this last hunting season, along with an article that I got published in Outdoors Weekly out of the Twin Cities about a Montana Antelope hunt.

The 6.5-06 is my hunting rifle. So far I've shot this antelope and a whitetail in South Dakota. Nothing real significant as to range — 250 yards for each, but neither one moved after the shot! I'm using the Berger 140 gr. VLD bullet and the 1:9 twist is stabilizing the long bullet just fine out to at least 250 yards.
The .17 Hornet is just murder on Prairie Dogs! I shot about an elk's-weight equivalent well past 200 yards this summer on several trips out to West River, South Dakota.
I think I need to get an additional frame for the Encore; I always seem to have the wrong barrel on it for what I want to do!
The cases, both 6.5-06 and .17 do not show any signs of stretching. The .17 is easy to form, once you get the hang of it. Thank you for a superior product.
Sincerely,
Ken Sorensen
