Thanks for the work you have done and the friend you are. This is the first bear I have ever seen in the wild. With our guns in the cases the
morning of the hunt, my son & I were sitting around chatting when a bear walks out and starts eating grass like there was no tomorrow. I sat there
thinking, "Is that really a bear?" Then it clicked, "That is a bear!"
I quickly gathered up my Encore with the 16" Bullberry barrel, while grabbing my back pack to dig out the shells. All the time this bear is paying
no attention to us.
About the time I got my act together and put the scope on him, my son tipped over the box of bullets. Man what a racket that made. The bear looked
straight at me. At 215 yards, I planed to put the 120 grain Barnes xlc pushed with 42 grains of IMR 4895 between the ears of this 150 pound Bruin.
The first shot went a little high, breaking the bear down. A quick follow up shot through the shoulders finished the job.
