Fred:
I had to write and tell you how much I am enjoying my 23" stainless bull barrel in
.17 Remington along with the double exhibition grade black walnut stock and forend. I topped it off with a 6x18 Leupold Dot reticle and Butler
Creek caps. I can cover five shot groups all day with a dime.
Last week I shot a red fox at 284 yards (ranged with Bushnell 800 rangefinder), using
a 20 grain Hornady Vmax clipping along at 4,200 FPS. The fox ran about 20 yards and piled up dead.
This past weekend my boys and I spent some quality time out controlling the Prairie dog
population here in Utah. The .17 is awesome at this task as well, as you can see by the attached photos. My first kill with the .17 was a huge
Rock Chuck at about 100 yards. The Vmax did a number on him! It is totally destructive on Ground squirrels too.
Thanks for such a fine precision piece of hunting equipment. I'm dreaming of the
next project already.
