As far as the 280 barrel -- couldn't ask for more. Three shot groups average
1/2 to 3/4 inches with handloads. Speer 145gr SP, CCI large rifle primers, 55.5 grains of IMR 4350 powder.
This year my hunting started in Pennsylvania with two white tail. A friend of
mine made a 1 shot kill with it on a white tail at 287 yards. In Texas where I hunt, its all cactus and mesquite and we want to anchor whatever
we shoot in place.
I have a load of confidence in the weapon and will try a head or neck shot out
to 300 yards. This picture is a south Texas hog taken at 40 yards with the Encore and Bullberry 280 barrel, again a one shot kill, fell where
she was shot. 165 pounds field dressed.
